Membership Terms & Conditions and Data Policy
(Applicable to Collaborative Partners / Associate Advocates Joining JUST LAW Network)
1. Introduction
Welcome to the JUST LAW Legal Network. By submitting your application for membership as a Collaborative Partner / Associate Advocate, you agree to abide by the following Terms & Conditions and Data Policy. These provisions govern your association, participation, and use of this professional platform.
The purpose of this association is to build a transparent, ethical, and mutually beneficial network of legal professionals across India, facilitating collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional growth.
2. Nature and Scope of Association
- Membership in the JUST LAW Legal Network does not constitute an employment, partnership, or agency relationship.
- Each member shall remain an independent practicing advocate, fully responsible for their professional conduct, advice, and representation.
- The network serves as a professional collaboration and referral platform for advocates, without creating any financial, contractual, or legal obligations between members, except as mutually agreed upon in writing.
- JUST LAW reserves the right to approve, suspend, or remove any member at its discretion if the member’s conduct is found to be unethical, misleading, or contrary to the Bar Council of India’s professional standards.
3. Eligibility and Verification
- Membership is open to enrolled advocates holding a valid license issued by the respective State Bar Council in India.
- Applicants must provide accurate and verifiable information including name, contact details, enrolment number, Bar Council certificate, photograph, and jurisdiction of practice.
- JUST LAW may verify the authenticity of submitted credentials and reserves the right to seek clarification or deny membership if the information is incomplete or inconsistent.
4. Representation and Conduct
- Members shall maintain the highest standards of professional ethics, confidentiality, and integrity as per the Advocates Act, 1961 and the Bar Council of India Rules.
- No member shall misrepresent themselves as an employee, partner, or official representative of JUST LAW unless expressly authorized in writing.
- Members may identify themselves as “Collaborative Partner, JUST LAW Network” for reference purposes only.
- Members shall not use the platform for solicitation, advertising, or any activity contrary to the Bar Council’s guidelines on legal marketing.
5. Use and Display of Member Information
- By submitting the membership form, members consent to the display of their name, photograph, jurisdiction, area of practice, experience, and brief profile on the official JUST LAW website.
- Contact details such as email and mobile number will be used only for internal communication and will not be publicly displayed without explicit consent.
- JUST LAW retains the right to edit or moderate profile content for accuracy, professionalism, and consistency.
- Members can request modification or removal of their public profile at any time by written communication to the firm.
6. Confidentiality and Data Protection
- All personal and professional information shared during the membership process will be treated with strict confidentiality.
- JUST LAW shall not sell, share, or disclose members’ data to third parties without consent, except when required by law or regulatory authority.
- The website uses secure technology to store and process member data in accordance with applicable privacy laws including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
- Members are responsible for ensuring that the information they provide remains current and accurate.
7. Intellectual Property & Platform Use
- All logos, website designs, content, and network materials are the intellectual property of JUST LAW.
- Members may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any firm content or material without prior written permission.
- The online platform is to be used solely for professional networking, referrals, and collaboration—not for personal promotion or solicitation of clients.
8. Termination of Membership
- A member may voluntarily withdraw by submitting a written request to JUST LAW.
- JUST LAW may terminate membership if:
- The member provides false or misleading information.
- The member violates Bar Council ethics or these terms.
- The member misuses the name or platform of JUST LAW.
- Upon termination, all rights to use the JUST LAW name, logo, or branding shall immediately cease.
9. Disclaimers
- JUST LAW does not assume liability for the professional actions, opinions, or outcomes of any individual member or collaborative partner.
- The firm acts solely as a facilitator of professional collaboration and is not responsible for any disputes, advice, or representation undertaken independently by members.
- Membership does not guarantee referrals, case allocation, or financial benefits.
10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws of India, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts at Chandigarh.
11. Acknowledgment and Consent
By clicking “Submit Application” or by participating in the JUST LAW Legal Network, the applicant acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions and the Data Policy.
